The Concept of Showing Up

Hello my readers!

Showing up for yourself is about honoring yourself and being your biggest supporter.

At the core of this concept is knowing who you are and what you want your life to look like or what you desire. And with all of this, we experience different journeys to get there. Some go for it with no hesitation or attending to their limiting beliefs and some go through hurdles of self-doubt, anxiety and feeling like you are not capable. I am not going to lie, everytime I want to do something big for my life or something life-changing, I am scared, I have anxiety. The funny thing is, I show up anyway after embracing all of that, because at the end of the day, I choose to move forward and experience it scared or whatever, and take notes.

Here are some tips that I researched and found helpful:

• The decision you make makes you – When you make the decision to show up for yourself, you are creating room for more opportunities to come your way and you are building the life that you want. If you choose to drown in your limiting beliefs, you are closing the doors and sticking to the comfort of always dreaming and no action.

• Understand your environment – What is surrounding you? Is there space to become better for you with no gatekeepers?

• Intentionality – defined as being deliberate or purposive, to represent or to stand for things. It is important to know what to represent and what not to represent when showing up for yourself. Don’t just show up for anything, know when there is a chair for you at the table and be okay when you don’t see that chair.

• Showing up for yourself comes with loving what you do, even if it’s going to the gym or work.

• Last but not least, say positive things about your life. Check this blog for context.
Feel free to share what showing up for yourself looks like for you in the comment section.

I love that chair concept! Too often I see myself and peer’s trying to create an opportunity in a space there is none. It’s like sitting on the table of someone’s meal.
